I've noticed that dressing weirdly can, counterintuitively, gain me weirdness points instead of spending them. If I lead with a weird presentation, then further weird behavior is congruent with people's expectations.

I recall reading some curveball fashion advice . A woman said, "I have a naturally brisk and professional presentation which can scare people, so I wear soft knits. If you're gentle and feminine you need to wear tailored suits to balance that out." But that was aimed at success in the workplace, not helping "your" people spot you.
